Fr. Daniel Yagan, a newly ordained priest of the Society of St. Pius X has passed away.

It is with a heart heavy with sadness that I announce to you that our dear Fr. Yagan has died unexpectedly in his room at the Manila priory this Monday morning. In the previous week he had had doctors appointments to see what he was suffering from (he tested negative for Covid-19) and the doctors told him they think he had pneumonia and gave him antibiotics. He was saying Mass in his room (to protect his fellow priests) and getting food brought to him from the priory kitchen.

He was up and walking around the priory on Sunday afternoon and was in contact with his fellow priests on Sunday evening.

Fr. Yagan was ordained only last December and just finished 6 months of the Priesthood. He lived and worked in Singapore for many years and has been working in his native country of the Philippines for the last 3 months.

We are all in a state of shock and are already saying Masses for the eternal rest of his soul. I ask you to pray for his soul and offer Mass when possible for his soul.

May his soul rest in peace. Amen
