The Death of the Akita Visionary: Sister Agnes Sasagawa
Sister Agnes Sasagawa, Seer of Our Lady of Akita, passed away on August 15, 2024, on feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.
Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa received serious messages concerning all mankind from the Wooden statue of Our Lady on three occasions at her convent chapel in Akita, Japan, on July 6, August 3, and October 13, 1973. After three messages, as if to confirm their veracity, the wooden statue shed tears 101 time from January 4, 1975 to September 15, 1981. Many people witnessed the objective facts and the tears were medically analysed and testified as human origin.
The events concerning Our Lady of Akita were approved by Bishop John Shojiro Ito, then Ordinary of the Diocese of Niigata, who had officially investigated the matter. The messages of Our Lady of Akita are of extremely importance concerning the entire humanity in the whole world, and the Catholic Church at large. It was the first time such approved apparition occurred in the history of the Catholic Church in Japan.
Sister Sasagawa was warned by Our Lady that if people do not repent of their sins, there would be an unprecedented chastisement on all mankind, heavier than the deluge in the time of Noah. Through Sister Sasagawa, Our Lady encouraged us to pray and make reparation, especially through the prayer of the holy Rosary daily. The Blessed Mother of God promised that only she can save us from the impending calamity and that those who seek her help will be saved.
She has been living the life full of sufferings. On the feast of Assumption this year, she rendered her soul to her Creator to meet Our Lady in heaven.
